Sifnos is not just for hiking or sea lovers – if you love climbing, you’ll find four organized climbing fields here with 70 routes, covering a wide range of difficulty from 5b to 7b. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, you’ll definitely find something that suits your level.
The Fields - Climbing with a View of the Aegean
During the summer, the fields remain in the shade for most of the day, making them ideal for combining island vacations with the adrenaline of climbing. Additionally, all are located close to the port of Kamares, so you won’t even need a car to reach them.
What Equipment You Will Need
If you plan to try climbing in Sifnos, make sure to bring:
- 70m rope (though some routes require a shorter one)
- 10-16 quickdraws
- Climbing shoes
- Helmet
- Harness
All routes are equipped with bolts and anchors with carabiners for maximum safety and comfort.
The Development of Climbing in Sifnos
The creation of these routes was initiated by DIKES, thanks to the expertise and dedication of Dimitris Titopoulos, Antonis Tsesmetzoglou, and Kostas Tsouklidis, who designed and equipped the fields, offering visitors to Sifnos yet another exciting activity.
