Folklore exhibition "Yiannis Atsonios" – "Back in Our Homes" (in Artemonas, opposite Panagia tou Bali)

In Artemonas, opposite Panagia tou Bali, you’ll find the folklore exhibition "Back in Our Homes." This is a recreation of a traditional Sifnian house, filled with objects that locals used in their daily lives. As you walk through the exhibition, you’ll feel like you've traveled back in time. The old furniture, cooking utensils, tools, and decorative details transport you to an era where everything was made by hand, with love and craftsmanship. If you want to see how the Sifnians lived in the old days, this exhibition is the perfect opportunity!

The exhibition is open during the summer months.

Archaeological museum of Agios Andreas (at the archaeological site of Agios Andreas)

For a more in-depth experience, the archaeological museum at the site of Agios Andreas is another must-visit location. Located at the entrance of the site, it houses finds from the excavations of the Mycenaean acropolis. Here, you will find ceramics, tools, and architectural fragments that testify to the continuous habitation of the area from the Mycenaean to the Hellenistic periods. If you climb to the top of the hill, you won’t just see ancient ruins—you’ll also enjoy one of the most spectacular views on the island.

Archaeological museum of Sifnos (in Kastro)

If you want to learn more about the island's ancient history, the Archaeological Museum in Kastro is the perfect stop. Kastro was once the ancient capital of Sifnos, and the exhibits here take you back through the centuries, from the Archaic and Hellenistic periods to the Roman era. Inside the museum, you’ll find impressive sculptures, tombstones, statues, and architectural elements discovered in the area. Among the most fascinating exhibits are a marble kouros head from the 6th century BC, an Ionic capital, and an anthemion-topped tombstone from the 4th century BC.

The museum is small but filled with history, making it a worthwhile visit if you're in Kastro.
